Invasion of the Gerbils!

The Lotti family welcomed two new additions last week: Pumpkin (the black one) and Sprinkles (the white one) are Karoline's first real pets (not counting earthworms, ladybugs, and seamonkeys). Karoline named them, in case you hadn't guessed. For the first couple days, she would only handle them with gloves b/c their claws were "scratchy". Now, she's gotten brave and holds them bare-handed. She's even quicker than daddy at snatching them up into her little hands. Our whole family loves watching them shred toiletpaper rolls and tissue paper. Mommy is still a tad squeamish about them, but she has a soft spot for them, too. Julianna thinks they're tiny doggies and barks at them with her little "umph, umph" whenever we go near their cage.
