Decorating the Tree

We put up the Christmas tree last weekend. Karoline is very excited about Christmas. In fact, I think she's been talking about Santa since July. She was a super helper. The tree looks great. We are hoping to visit with Santa on Sunday when we go to Pullen Park to ride the Holiday Train. She has her list ready & she is determined to sit on his lap this year. We haven't had a picture taken with Santa since she was 6 months old!

Julianna's first look at the tree. So far, she's pretty much left it alone. She is more interested in the snowmen that are around the house on her level. I love this picture because it really shows how crazy her hair is. This is a pretty normal "do" for her, although the dry air & static aren't helping right now. Poor girl. Hopefully she'll grow into her hair!

Gingerbread House fun

Karoline & her friend Ally from next door built a beautiful & delicious gingerbread house together. They had a lot of fun decorating it & did a great job. (And, no, it wasn't 90 degrees outside that day. In fact, it was quite cold & rainy. Karoline just thought it was the perfect day to wear her Ariel sundress. Don't worry Grandmas...she didn't leave the house with it on!)

Getting started.

What a great job!

"Cleaning up" the leftovers!

Julianna's first Turkey Day

Julianna spent her first Thanksgiving at the Outer Banks with Daddy, Mommy, Karoline, Ma, Pap Pap, Grandma & MeMe. We all had a great time. Julianna enjoyed a turkey dinner puree!

Julianna & Elmo

Julianna having some play time! (Turn off the blog music before you play the video.)

Proof that Julianna can get anywhere!

Julianna is trying desperately to crawl. She has just about mastered getting herself up on all fours, so it shouldn't be long till she's moving! But, that doesn't stop her from getting where she wants to be. She can scootch, wiggle & roll anywhere. We've found her stuck under chairs, rolling out of rooms & the best yet...this is how daddy found her on Sunday morning!

The Lottis

I've been trying to get better at taking more pictures. As I look back at Karoline's first year, we have hundreds pictures. Sadly, Julianna has fallen into the second child syndrome. Mommy is busy with day to day things & the camera is forgotten. So, I've been leaving the camera out so it reminds me to take some pictures every day. Here are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks!

Our Halloween Fun!

Halloween was a full day of fun. We started the day with a parade and party at Karoline's preschool. All of the kids dressed in their costumes & "paraded" through the school.

We went to the Halloween carnival in downtown Clayton that afternoon. Karoline has been every year since she was 2 & loves it! The kids parade down Main Street & the business owners pass out candy. The parade ends at the Town Square where the high school students put on a carnival complete with games, face painting and treats! Julianna had a great time at her first carnival & is looking forward to many more!

And, to end the day, we went trick or treating with our next door neighbors. The kids had a great time! Both Karoline & Julianna were beat by the end of the day!

Julianna is 6 months old!

Julianna turned 6 months old on 10/21! She is getting pretty big. We estimate she's probably about 16 pounds. (We go to the doctor this week for her check up.) She thinks she's a big girl, too! She can sit up by herself for short periods of time, is eating fruits and veggies, shrieks and babbles up a storm, laughs her head off (especially for Karoline) and rolls all over the place! Mommy tried to do a 6 month photo shoot at home. Watch the slide show for a good laugh!

North Carolina State Fair 2008

We went to the North Carolina State Fair this week with the Heiners and our next door neighbor, Ally. We all had a great time. Nothing beats a day full of rides, junk food & carnies!

Happy Fall

We are getting ready for halloween in the Lotti house. Karoline picked a beautiful princess costume, so of course, mommy had to pick a costume for Julianna that went with the theme. We found a great costume for her...a frog! Daddy tried to get a picture of the girls in their costumes. Julianna was more interested in the flowers!

We also took a trip to a pumpkin farm! We rode on a wagon pulled by a tractor out to the pumpkin field where Karoline picked a beautiful pumpkin. On the way back, we saw some goats, chickens, a horse & a mule. Karoline also ran through a hay maze...5 times! We had a lot of fun!

One tired pumpkin!

Mommy has taken over the blog!

I've decided to take over the blog & give it a much needed face lift! Matt has done a wonderful job keeping it updated but I decided it was in need of some creativity. So, it now has all of the "girly" things that the princesses' blog deserves.

For my first posting, I've dug up some classic Karoline. For those of you who don't know, this video montage is how I told Matt we were expecting Julianna. He, of course, didn't get it at first. After I explained the meaning, he was quite excited! Enjoy.

Pants-on-head and Holding bottle

Two exciting things: 1) Wearing pants on head; and 2) Holding bottle
