PA Trip & Cousin Alicia's Wedding

We undertook the 9 hr drive up to the Pittsburgh area last week to visit some family and attend Matt's cousin Alicia's wedding.

Before the day of the wedding arrived, we paid a visit to Matt's Grandma, Dorothy, who we hadn't seen in a long long time. We had an awesome visit with her and she got to love on the girls for a while. This was her first time meeting Julianna. You can see from the picture that she's still keeping up her good looks at 87!

Here's Kristi with the girls and our nephew Zachary (Jenn & Bob's oldest) outside the church waiting for the bride and groom to come out.

Below is a pic Karoline took of Alicia and Mark making there entrance at the reception.

Julianna and Abby (Sharon & Chris' little one) doing a little premature dancing before dinner:

Another Karoline Lotti original (Alicia and Uncle Bob dancing). Uncle Bob sorta looks like Matt's dad here (six inches shorter).

All of Susan's grandkids assembled in one place (that's Max, Jenn's youngest between Karoline and Abby):

The roads are no longer safe...

Julianna mastered the neighbor's battery-powered jeep this weekend. She's a little herky-jerky, and she's not much for steering. But entertaining nonetheless.

Celebrating Julianna's 2nd Birthday!

We had two early birthday parties yesterday for Julianna who will be 2 on Wednesday! The first one was in the AM with some kids and grownups from the neighborhood. Below is the birthday girl with pals Megan and Ally cuttin' a rug to some Hannah Montana tunes.

And more dancing. Doing the chicken dance here (Julianna's current favorite dance number) with Ms. Kim leading the revelers and Jordan resisting calls from the grownups to join in the fray.

Julianna goofing around with the bandanna the big kids used as a blind fold for the piƱata (she wanted nothing to do with it herself). This was during the intermission between the two festivities.

And now for party #2. The garden playhouse from Ma & Pappap, and Mommy & Daddy. And outfits #2 of the day for both girls.

A horsey from Grandma.

Another horsey plus a horse purse also from Grandma.

The owl cake. Oreos with junior mints for the eyes, a banana runt for the nose, tape gum for the bow, chocolate chips for the spots, and edible Easter grass for the nest. (Notice Julianna still in outfit #2 and Karoline onto #3 of the day).

A close-up of Kristi and Jane's owl cake creation. It was as delicious as it was pretty.

An owl hair bow Kristi made for Julianna for the occasion.

And a couple owl decoration thingies Kristi made (don't ask how many felt feathers she cut and glued by hand).

Karoline's Gymnastics Meet - March 20

This meet was supposed to take place in February but was snowed out. Hence, the "Sweetheart Meet" was held at the end of March. It's hard to get good pics when your subject is a 40 lb. whir flipping around the bars, beam, and floor. I did the best I could.

Here she is on the bar getting ready to perform a "cast back hip circle".

In the middle of a "back limber" on the floor:

Posing with the rest of the "Fairies" (yes, that's really their team name).

The proud participant:

And her sister, a budding gymnast in her own right, goofing around with someone else's little sister (pardon the pacifier - it's on its way out, we promise).
